“AARP Financial Security Trends Survey, January 2024: Sense of Financial Security Holds Steady, Optimism Up” A recent survey by AARP found that 61% of people age 50 and up worry that they won't have enough money for retirement. Worrying about retirement is something everyone has probably experienced at some point, or will experience. However, people, especially men, are becoming increasingly less secure about their retirement outlook. About 42% of men above age 30 described their situation as 'only fair' or 'poor', which is up from 34% when the study was done in January 2022. The survey also found that the share of men carrying a credit card balance has also increased to 43% when it was previously at 38%.
